we love what we do, and so do our clients

“The Express Data solution exceeded all our design requirements. They provided a professional, efficient and reliable solution incorporating Blown Fibre technology combined with Cat5e cabling. The physical installation is the best I have seen which indicates why they are our number 1 choice.”

The multicore cabling allowed for a flexible means of distributing voice throughout the premises, and extensions could be installed and moved in a matter of minutes.

The Blown Fibre system allowed for the speedy implementation of a Gigabit Ethernet backbone between all communications rooms and meant that any additions or upgrades could be installed with virtually no disruption and little expense.

The entire installation was completed in only four weeks. An engineer was also on hand to assist in the “patching in” and documentation of all the voice and data services.

The system comprised approximately 1300 Brand-Rex Gigaplus Premium Category 5e UTP outlets, utilising low smoke halogen-free cabling. There was to be a main communications room on the ground floor accommodating a total of six 42U patching frames which were to house the active network hardware, voice, data and fibre optic patch panels.

Also, each floor had a satellite communications room with two 42U patching frames. The satellite communications rooms were then linked to the main communications room via Gigaplus link cables, voice multicore cables, and a Blown Fibre-Optic cabling system utilising 50/125 optical fibre.

Express Data Ltd. had been supporting Kingfield Heath by installing Category 5e UTP cabling systems to their existing 16 sites throughout the UK.

In the Spring of 2001 Express Data, as Kingfield Heath’s preferred network specialist, were invited to tender for the installation of a communications cabling system, as the company looked to relocate its head office to new purpose-built premises in South Yorkshire.

The site was to be a large, four-storey complex adjacent to Sheffield Airport, and five companies were competing for the cabling work.

Through a combination of competitive pricing and excellent knowledge & expertise, the contract was awarded to Express Data.
Work was soon underway to design and implement a data and voice cabling infrastructure to meet the client’s requirements.

Express Data had to liaise with other on-site contractors such as electricians, plasterers, painters etc. throughout the time of installation to ensure that the project went ahead smoothly and was completed within the set timeline.
